I picked 2 small ones tonight and left 5 but we need rain bad.It frosted this morn and they are calling for rain next 2 days .

Finally broke the ice down here. I found 4 on 1 tree at Patoka Lake Campground. There was an old fence line still in the woods so I followed it and the fence went right through a giant Black Oak that was around 4' across the stump.

I found my first ones yesterday. They were small, but I picked one anyway. Plenty more starting,

I`ve got 4 on one tree and two on another, about 1/2 maximum size right now. went from not there at all a week ago to about head of lettuce size today. I figure give them maybe 2-4 more days.

We have only had 6/10 ths snice the last time i picked for Bobs deal.I have found no more and if not this week there wont be any:(

I've been checking a tree for the last 3 or 4 yrs and nothin' but just a little while ago: Going to keep an eye on it and see if it gets bigger.

99% OAKS AND YES THEY COME BACK MOST YEARS SO when you find one keep checking every year.

only time my trees miss is if it is a bad fall drought. I`ve never found them on anything but a oak, and has to be a real old big one in decline. like an old wolf oak out in a pasture, fence row or woods. here mostly on burr oaks, but seen them on white oaks and red oaks too. fall droughts have been not that uncommon up untill this year. I have a buddy been finding them on stumps of oaks that were cut 20 years ago and almost rotton. so if they cut your favorite tree, don`t give up on it.
