For the most part no we don't have them. I'm from Florida were we had them everywhere. What kind of trap are you looking to make. You could make a portable trap like a huge cage trap. The other way is to make a hog pen (which is what we used). Hog pens are fixed. I know we used hog paneling for the sides but can't remember how to rig the door. The sides you have to bury into the ground about 2 feet to keep them from digging out. Use metal T post like for fencing about every 3-4 ft to keep them from pushing the sides down when they get riled up. Let me see if I can remember the door rig. Also snares are the cheapest way to get started especially if your after just a few of them

would like to know more about all of it.
the fixed are prolly more productive, but wouldn't want to put that much into one place!
prolly need to be more mobile, are the portable traps productive enough to make it worth wild?
if i were to do it, i would want to be effective, and hurt the population, although from what i gather once ya got em, they just can't hardly be wiped out!
i'm wanting to figure out if it's something to get into or not!

If you build a pen what ever you DO NOT KILL them in the pen or you will never get another one in it. you will have to trailer them away and kill elswhere. to mrig the door you must have a trip wire in the back side of the pen for larger catches. also bait for several weeks before setting trip wire for a catch.

I know they snare a lot of them in fences. I guess the hogs are hard on fences and where they cross is obvious and easy to set up. They also snare them in trails leading to feeding spots. I'm pretty sure they use 1/8 in cable and attach directly to fence and or tree but not sure of what kind of lock. They say the little ones are mighty good eats. Depending on how soon you need info, I know Bob W. did a lot of research on trapping them but he is out chasing kitties.

What's the point of trapping hogs? Is it because you know they're there, but you don't have the time to hunt them, so you just trap them instead?

they are a nusiance animal here, we,ve just started getting them in the last few years but they are getting thick.(kinda like, coyotes, skunks, armadillos, fire ants), cause lots of crop damage, and compete w/ other wildlife for food.and they can be trapped in larger #ers
