Thanks for posting that , Tim. Sillyness?? Oh yeah........ "The sheer terror on the coyotes face as it was being ravaged by beagles" "DNR will allow those engaged in the taking of coyotes year round to market coyote hides and parts throughout the year. This may result in increased marketability of coyote parts and may potentially open new markets to replace, at least in part, the live market that is being lost." Surely we can find a market for summer time hides to replace the live market. I'm gonna be rich.

ps, no mistaking who our buddies are and are not, and who the dnr sides with, and it is no longer the sportsmen or public of indiana. as I submitted, that imo means heads need to role, dismissals of those given the authority to work for us ,who are now working against us. bad deal. no friends of mine anymore. sadly, they once really were my friends. I grieve that no longer exists.

If I can pull up harvest figures on Indiana coyotes why can't they? How can they say they don't know the rough totals?
All in all an excellent example of the anti's get out the votes machine at work. And just who is that "Sportsmens" group that was mentioned?
I think I'll raise my per head price again.

it wasn`t the antis that got out the vote, it was the indsiana dnr feeding the newspapers to get the antui vote. they even hired a pr man to feed info to the papers. I hope the nrc sees that. so what does that make the dnr? what they don`t realize is their new best buddys don`t like anything else dnr does either.

Tim, It is sad there are so many ignorant people out there. And I am talking about the DNR! Todays average joe public, we already know they are ignorant. They got an excuse.......growing up too far from the land. But the DNR is supposed to know better, and are falling hook, line, and sinker for an anti agenda. Like Bob said, what are they going to do when the Anti's come after them for raising pheasants and quail and turning them loose to be shot? Ignorant is putting it mildly.

It's hard to believe that many people can talk about something they don't know about, go figure. I've been to field trails and even been a judge, never seen a coyote caught or killed. I also trap and have caught coyotes with mange and see how they suffer. But now days we base everything of how we feel and not facts what a suprise this world will wake up to one day.

Good testimony Tim!
This part by some nut though did catch my attention:
And several scientific studies have found that when coyotes are heavily hunted, their reproduction increases and can actually drive up populations.
Id request this nut to present such study's that show this or withdraw such claims!
Also he went on to state:
The reality is that coyotes are not the great threat to Indiana’s farmers that the trappers would have us believe because coyotes are generally NOT large animal predators. In fact, rodents and other small mammals make up the MAJORITY of the coyote diet. Coyotes are beneficial to a healthy eco-system, helping to keep in check many small prey species like mice that could otherwise overrun an area especially farmland.
Id explain to him before the coyote arrived this rodent population reduction mechanism was called the red fox! Id also asked how the removal of this species by the coyote in any way shape or form is what's best for ANY ecosystem!
You guys have a big mess no doubt. Good luck in the future, I think you know the route you need to go with this.

Good point, j. You know, I look back this 4th of July and think, "Is this what our forefathers died for?" Free speech for animals? Don't get me wrong the HSUs has stopped a few things that I agree with like hog confinements or that deal in Cali. 'bout that meat-packin' plant that sold meat of sick cows to public schools. That's something I can tolerate, but this... Hunters, trappers, and anglers all are backed up by logical facts and a good reason why we do the outdoor activities. Then these people come around. I think George Washington would have cried if he saw these people. I think ol' Benjamen Franklin would have had 'em deported.

Not sure what your talking about but HSUS doesn't keep bad meats out of schools or anywhere else, USDA inspector's do! OR at the least suppose to!
Right or wrong, I think the entire running pen deal is on it's last leg not only in IN. but nationwide. It may linger around for another 10 years maybe at the most but it's quickly going to die out, just has too many elements about that are not popular with the general public. Plus it's a great fundraiser for the animal right's nuts.
I view it as a large dam that's starting to crumble, a crack appears and you go to patch it and before it can be patched up 3 more cracks appear. It in time will got the route of the chicken fights. Hope im wrong but it's just how I see it.
