Nice catch! So, when you trap for beaver, in that type of terrain, how do you find their dens along the bank? I'm assuming from seeing a tree gnawed on by one you would have the general idea that it's near there, but what are you really looking for of an inication of a den?

most times in that type terrain, ya won't see the den, unless it has the sticks piled up, w/ water up to capacity and above for ducks, bank dens are not visible. not really to worried about dens, because i don't set up on them, i look for crossovers, choke down points, watch caster mounds, peeled sticks ,,,,,, you get in the middle of em and you'll know!

There might be a den in our creek, due to it's a mound of mud with leaves and sticks on top in the middle of the creek, but there has been alot of flooding last year, so I don't know it is just a random collection of debris or it is a true beaver den. I'm assuming the dens are in the banks of this creek, but who knows. Thanks
