Was held Today 11/01/08
Aprox 10 IN buyers were in attendence, along with FHA Agent (Alexis Rose) and NAFA Agent (Terry Manely). maybe 20 total people were in attendence.
Alot of talk about the economy and historical happenings in the fur market took place. No prices for this upcoming season (per buyer) were discused, but a general overall feeling of how the market may play out this year.
Nafa gave their "feeling" about the market and was a "doom & gloom" talk about buyers not over extending their means this year with a shaky market and how in the past this type economy has broke the best of buyers and caution should be employed. Also how the market is changing daily.....example... Beef hide market is at a stand still, etc.
FHA spoke about what they knew at the "moment" and was in the spirit about the post the other day in "2 guys talking", also about the warehouse being basicly empty and that if the stars were to line up that things could happen. A low harvest simular to last year could help.
The feeling is that most buyers are going cheep with the little to no info they have this early season..
Again no set prices were made/discussed.

Ron Bloebaum and I pretty much quit going to the meetings severaly years ago. All it is a BS secession and a dinner that takes 3 hrs. to drive to. Once eveybody discussed prices it was pretty much over. What Ron and I found out was, nobody paid any attention to the price structure , once they was home.

For Terry to say that is something I never thought I would hear from his mouth. Terry is generally upbeat about everything. A person that knows what he is talking about, no doubt.
