I have a decent stream running on the back of my place. A nice feeder spring runs into it and I have that guarded whenever one or two runs up that. Got any tips on sets in the main stream? Logs laying everywhere on my side and rock walls on the other side. I'd rather have a nice fishin' hole than the Otter.

Only have 2 sets in the spring branch and fight rising and falling water all the time. Lot of work going on so only time to piddle. So far, 1 otter and 1 beaver.

Went ahead and skinned it. I checked it in the day of catch and then later, CO came and tagged it and took the carcass. I asked to keep the skull and he said wasn't legal. I would respectfully it will be disposed of and I feel that's a shame because I could have kept it as it was my first ever. What would that have hurt?

I sure dont see where that would have hurt anything, but they have some strange rules sometimes. Are you allowed to remove glands before they take the carcuss, or is that illegal also?

I didn't ask for the glands. I doubt that would be an issue.

Well if there's an Otter or Beaver in the sets, it's under 4' of water Only thing good is my spring branch has current until the main river gets up and stops it. Not too bad for losing a trap.
