My brother ice fishes. I go once in a while. I mostly just like eating them.
I have a couple coyotes to put up in the morning. Sounds like a good day to fire up the stove in the fur shed and catch up in there.

I’m going out with a buddy, we each have a deer ground blind to sit in with a heater in it. Might just have a fish fry Sunday cook what I catch on Saturday and pull some from the freezer if need be. Do have couple coyote snares out, might try for under ice rats next week

kathy snared one in the corner of the tree field while I was gone. was so big she brought it back on a snow sled and nathan helped her put it in the freezer. guess who gets to thaw and skin that thing now. it`s as nice as they get for indiana but I`m plumb spoiled now so it looks like a hemp door mat to me. a big hemp mat at that.

Hope you had a good trip. I’m hoping I can go out this next fall. I caught a lot of junk here. All rubbed, tripods, no tails, a mix of it all. Now I did get a few that were ok but not many. Just over couple hundred rats. Bob did you put a skinning pole on your truck or just do it all after checking your sets. I know either way it’s a lot of work, but I know I enjoy getting stuff stretched and dried/ combed...

I’m glad I had one built for my pole barn.15 ft @ max height. Down to 8ft when not in use and it’s on casters. Now I’m after a beaver for the Beaverfest the first Saturday in February in Newberry. Cooked on a smoker not to bad...

we used to always take a beaver to the church feed. one lady in the church would always ask around which dish the wendts brought to make sure she never ate any. everyone else received it well but her.
