eat thm hot, not cold! young fawns are the best as less fat on them. the ribs on a 60-80 lber are the best part of the deer. older fat deer best to boil them till the bulk of the fat comes to the top and pour off. also cut off as much as you can. get the fat gone and they are great with your favorite barbq on the grill or in the oven wrapped in foil to keep moist. lots of folks want that big buck but the fawns are the best. we try to not shoot the does as they keep the bucks around and also produce those nice tender fawns. oh ya if the "turdy pointer" comes we`ll shoot him, otherwise we want fawns. it`s the best management for deer.

The nice young ones are my favorite too, good eating, easy dragging. I will give it a try. Thanks!

I think I`ll make barbq ribs for next years cook out, if we can down some nice fawns. as good as any pork or beef ribs. well, maybe like anything breaded and deep fried with enough tarter sauce. maybe I`ll do that with my knee boots if they get a hole. just kidding, the baby deer ribs really are very very good!

We had those ribs last night. Delicious!! Couldnt believe how good they are. Its been so long I cant remember, but the last ribs we tried had to be from a big buck or doe. Just no comparison!! Thanks again.

or... a lot! I`m still trying to get a fawn with the bow. afraid I don`t have enough knock down power to shoot a big deer anyway, so if I see any going to pass and wait till gun season on any bucks
