found 2 big yellows, fresh today. they weren`t there yesterday, as I looked. would have swore it was too late. still probably just a fluke and don`t expect any more. at least kathy can put 2 in her scrambled eggs tomorrow morning. only 2 this year. guess they just couldn`t resist 4" of rain.

Glad you found a couple. I am still looking a little, just not expecting anything.

found a broken arrowhead in the tree rows yesterday, where we could walk on sod. we are chomping at the bit to look in the front field ( fresh deep worked and then disc`d and planted) but it`s still too muddy to even walk on. with 3-4" more inches predicted in the next 48 hrs it is going to be a while more before we can look. I know lots of good places to look but just too muddy every where up here now. I`m way behind on farm work, can`t spray due to high winds and mud, can`t even mow due to lakes in the tree field. trees are growing like mad so I guess they like all the rain. beats heck out of a drought! come august 1st the place will look all nice again, all mowed, no weeds, trees all sheared. end of the summer I`ll be sweeping the barn floor and polishing the tractor. my only "easy" time is august sept and october, between the trees and trapping. did sell all my coyotes and cats. still 2 freezers of coon and skunk, badgers etc. can`t see even lifting the freezer lids till prices recover, or I haul all the fur to the dump, one or the other. my guess is the dump will beat putting the fur up. a shame but it is what it is.
