Anybody use them? Have a picture of the setup? From what I gather, 5ft -5/8 rebar with half in the ground and something welded on bottom so it don't spin in dirt. Nut toward top to fasten snare to.

it`s just something for them to wrap up on in the absense of small trees and brush. I`m into simplicity, and to me it is less to tote around or pull up or put in. my cure? I went to all 1/8th and snare cats even ,with ease. most are dead and those not are still there. not so with tiny cable. problem solved, no need for kill poles. I did have a bear kill a `live coyote in a snare last week. that was a gruesome sight. wooped that coyote pretty bad. it was a place both would go under a flood gate. I suppose the bear told the coyote to move away and he couldn`t, so the bear smacked him around a good bit, and bite.

With the 1/8 snares how are you anchoring them? If there's only grass with no trees? Thanks

I went to the 1/8 cable back in live market days cross stake with 2 ft rebar. if you want to killem leave one stake up 6in. if he don't tangle he'll still be there unlike smaller cable they chew into.

I`ve had a lot of "experts" tell me 1/8th is too big. flat not true. no refusals and even catch plenty cats. I remember last time I used 3/32 taking live coyote the first 14 that year 7 chewed out, and I was there at sunrise every morning. I pulled them all and ordered 5,000 feet of 1/8th and never looked back. still have maybe 1,000 3/32 snares is anyone wants some snares dirt cheap. lol, I`ll throw in the 1/2 snares free.

I've used 5/64,3/32 snares and had several chewed out. With the 1/8 do you have to "load" them to make them faster.

I've learned cheap isn't always better. Use to use duke traps went to Bridger #3 os fully modified and this upcoming yr going to try some mb 550's. (just cause I've got 2 doz out here in the shop). Quality now tired of using junk. By far the Bridgers have treated me great. Thanks to those who recommended them.

that`s my go to trap now too. bridger #3 offset all the bells and whistles. the 1/8 works same as any other size, just bigger.

Made a couple to try out. Drove them in 30 inches but how the heck do ya pull them up? I put a cross piece on about 12 inches down thinking I could pull up that way and it ain't gonna happen.

I'm glad I didn't make up a ton of them. I can use them for the occasional beaver damage call
