It seems to be an excellent year for them. There was a total of 5 around this tree. I picked the biggest one, and will get the others in a couple days.

Great find Dave. I should have some by the weekend if not already. I told a good 'ole southern fella that I would send him some mushrooms and haven't done it yet but those dudes with last long enough to ship.

Hey there Mark, have you found any Hens yet? I went Sat. morning for about an hour and a half and didn't find a one. Checked about 35 or so Oaks and a couple Maples, but nothing. Looks like the critters got all our Paw Paws too on all 6 trees. I guess I'll have to start earlier next year on them, but keep checking for Hens every day or so.

I've not connected yet. Been lookin' mostly around Lanesville. I have some hot spots to check a few miles north so I should find some before the end of the week.

Nice finds Mark. What is the tree in the first pic that they were growing next to?
The hens seem to be done here.

Dave, the only trees I'm finding them under is Black Oak and most of the time, they have been damaged in some way like a fence or other damage. Bob said he finds them under some type of White Oak.....but not down here for me.
