Last monday i called klubertanz wire company and was going to order another roll of 48" 1"x1" galv. after wire for some pens. I was told that tinsley does not ship that wire to the USA anymore but they do have a replacement. They said it is just as heavy but it is not galv after. They said it is called bezinal and has been run thru an aluminum bath and their breeders and ranchers lke it very well so far. I got my roll of wire today and i will say that it is just as HD as the old galv. after stuff but this newer stuff is shiny unlike the other dull colored stuff. I am worried tho cause you can see the welds in this new wire were in the older stuff you could not. Only time will tell after afew yotes/fox get put thru them. We will see.......

Won't this stuff rust right at the welds?

Klubertanz told me no it won't. They said that their breeders that have been using it have no complaints with it.

I am praying tim, trust me! I am gonna leave it outside in the weather for a while and see what happens. If worse comes to worse i do have enough of the older galv. stuff that i can use it for my floors and use this new stuff for the sides, ends, and tops.

mmm, looks like big trouble to me. I`d trust my 20 year old 12 and 1/2 gaw over that stuff. plus, there are no coyote breeders, just fox breeders. and fox aren`t chit. you want some cheap cages, come get my used stuff for cheap. I`m cage rich, like hundreds of cages I`ll never use again.

Never said i wanted cheap cages bob. This stuff is just as high as the old gaw stuff. I only know what i was told and i think its a little late to change my mind now that i got it. I am sure if they were to take it back i would have to pay the shipping. Only choice we have now in the 12.5 gauge is this or the pvc black vinyl coated stuff.

Butch, If you are worried about rusting, go to a Sherwin Williams paint store, buy a couple gallons of their Oil Base DTM( Direct to Metal), find tub, or small tank big enough to lay that roll of wire in, and just roll it around a couple of times in that paint. Stand it up to drain and dry and you will be good to go. It WONT come off!

steve those criters run all night in a cage, they plumb wear the floors thru in time even with no rusting. butch, I meant if you wanted any of my used 12 and 1/2 gaw cages I`d sell them cheap, not that you sought out cheap wire. I believe valentine and safeguard both still sell gaw . I think they wheezed you to get the sale.
