What is a SHEDDER Muskrat?

A shedder is a muskrat that has two spots on the back of the pelt the size of a quater that the fur is starting to come out. Cheers Jim

It occurs in muskrat that are past their prime starts in the kidney areas and spreads. Will show up in early fall rats but starts in the spring. Cheers Jim

I think my head is shedder. started 2 spots one in front and one in back and slowly the two small spots are becoming one big one.

my head is also a shedder. I have seen very few rats in my life that would be called shedders. Lots of buyers call them Kidney spots.
