This morning me and my brother pulled all the sets that we had on a farm about 20 minutes from the house here. Well about 11am this morning we were out at the shed back filling some dirt and heard a siren in the distance. All of a sudden we heard what sounded like 3-5 coyotes start yipping and howling right behind the house! Now my brother told me that he heard the same thing over the last couple weeks 2 different times but i just shrugged it off being hard headed. Well we took off with our equipment and 4 traps and got about 3-400 yards back behind the house along the flat creek bottom and then things started to happen! We were easing along and all of a sudden seen a redish colored coyote about 75 yards out. It was just easing off away from us not spooked or even looking at us but it just eased away. The wind was perfectly in our favor so we were still feeling good. We stayed kneeled down for about 10 minutes trying to decide what to do and then we eased down into the flat bottom planning to put in our 4 traps and leave. All of a sudden another darker colored coyote bolted off a bed about 40 yards up the hill from us and took off to the south with the red one. While we were watching them i spotted somethng out of the corner of my eye and turned to see another smaller fluffly looking coyote take off about 20 yards to the north of us. After the rush was over we got to looking around and found atleast 8-10 beds were they had been laying and a couple of them were dry cause it had been misting this morning and while we were down there. Anyway we spooked them right out of their "safe" bedding area and pounded in 4 sets right in the middle and got out of there within 15 minutes. If we done everything correctly will we have some coyotes in the morning? When would you check the sets? Tonight or tomarrow morning? Help me out here fellas...
Thanks for any and all advise!

This is just in the middle of the woods. A flat bottom with a creek running through it surrounded by hills of hardwoods and thickets.

Lmao bob i had to check them this mrning and get on headed to WORK! Nothing this morning whatso ever tho, what gives, when will they be back? This area is really neat tho, there are trails and beds and scuffed up areas everywere right along the creek. You can also see were they actually mess around in the creek quite a bit and see the different spots were they have been getting in and out. Little small creek 2-3 feet wide and a foot deep at the deepest. Yall aint gonna believe this but this morning when i went in there i found a little ball "dog toy" right in the middle of all the beds. Will they actually play with stuff lke that?

I`ve seen old shoes etc in places like that. sit tight, about when you are ready to bail they will be back ,unless you scared them too bad. I doubt it. just don`t go dinking in there anymore than to ck it. sounds like a good spot to set 6 traps in a row and wait it out. when it happens, it will be sweet!

Connected with a male pup this morning. 300 yards is a long pack out with a live coyote on a catch pole but there was 2 of us so we made out ok. Should he bring the same price that i was quoted for adults? I am guessing 15 pounds or so and for sure not more than 20.

standard rule for me was they are all adults after sept 1st. if he wants to pick all females or all 2 year olds, I always said , fine, double the price. it`s your ball game, but don`t sell yourself short. demand is high now. in the winter you will be begging them to take them, and better to just pull up rather than give away. $100 firm! all adults or all females, $200, firm!

tell him $300 and you`ll throw in a cage and a trap and then he can trap his own for free!

too cheap, I`ve never sold one less than $100. tell them when they need them and willing to pay the 100 ,come on. till then I`d pull up. you`ll soon find any less , especially on summer coyotes, and not worth your time. in the meantime get set up to collect pee and double dip. if you need to sell daily or at their demand, you just as well quit now.

No bob i do not have to sell daily or at anyones demand. The guys i talked to just said to give them a call when i had a handfull. I am set up right now to only hold 5 coyotes wich is ok for what i am doing now. By december i should be set up to hold 8 -10 head or so and thats fine for the amount of trap i run lol. I also do plan to set them up were i can collect pee at the same time also. Thanks for the advise.
