Indiana Code 14-22-10-1 says you have to have consent to hunt, fish, harvest blah blah blah....
A guy at work says that means you have to have written permission to hunt of private property in Indiana. Is this correct? I've been looking on line and I can't find anywhere that it says consent means written permission. Any one have any information they can share? Thanks Chris

the warden here in hanthingy co says you need written to fish hunt trap or even look for arrowheads. his relations are one of the bigger farmers here locally and they had a form they signed and I signed and then they kept a copy and me a copy. this is scott johnson, the wardeb here, used to go by "mig" on this site. you can call him direct if you want. my personal take on it is verbal is ok, but a guy better go by whatever the warden in his area says.

I guess it's like about everything else! I contacted the District 7 Headquarters, they said no written permission needed, just consent. I guess it's up to the CO, seems kind of strange, but so be it.

one advantage to written is then a guy can trap coyotes dead or alive year `round, per indiana state law. idnr has no say on that.

Most of the farmers I trap on I call just before season comes in. They usually say don't call just go do what you wanna do. I've had them sign a paper in the past but don't anymore. They know my truck and I've never had any trouble. Do any trappers have any problems with game wardens here in Indiana. I trap 100% legal" but just don't ever see any conservation officers while I'm trapping.

Only problem I have with CO's have pics of guy messing with my snares, he admitted it to CO, told the co I wanted my snares replaced. Showed officer my pics,& written permission. & nothing. This is the 4th time officers have failed me throughout my trapping lifetime. I'm not contacting them on anything again. & I work for the DNR- I'm done..
