I caught a Beaver this morning that was the size of one I would catch in late Summer doing ADC. It barely weighed 10 lbs and it's tail was about 2" wide and 6" long. Was this a really late litter from last year or a early litter this year? I've never caught a Beaver this small during the Winter months, just kind of struck me as odd.

I`ve caught them like that before, more in the south than here at home. some just runts, others I think goofy breeding in the warmer states. some small like that here locally were same as starving to death, no fat and bad skinny. like parents killed off and they didn`t know how to feed.

I was kind of thinking along the same line as the goofy breeding you mentioned.
