If you make it with local hard ware wire it won't last a mo with fox what alone coyotes. You need hot dipped after welded wire.

called "gaw" don`t go 14 guage, get 12 and 1/2 guage 1 by 1. when you see the price you`ll come buy my used cages. not a sales pitch but my fox and more dvd has a whole chapter on pee ,cages, feeding, medications, etc.

That GAW is danged high priced. Galvanized after weld 12 1/2 1x1 is some real exspensive wire and the best you can buy.You can't buy that kind of wire at a local hardware store or Tractor supply or Rural king store. That wire will last for years out in the weather. We made 50 live traps with that wire and that has been 15 years ago and still don't show any sign of rust or weak spots. We used those cages for coyote transportation when we had a live market. We carried them on our 4 wheelers and never had a yote even bend one of the wires. We also built our holding pens out of the stuff and never had a yote that could even come close to escape. Our first holding cages was built of the cheap hardware store wire and we had yotes chew through the dang stuff on the third night we used it. Nothing but junk.

I`m in greenfield indiana. don is right, coyotes will chew thru the 14 guage pretty easy. plus they will get sores on their hocks and elbows on the small guage wire. if it isn`t the gaw it will rust away in less than a year.
