I was smart and flipped everything yesterday. glad I did! I`m not skinning anything due to no,market on fur this earyl( lol, or later), but filling the pee cages. about 2 and 1/2" of rain here and still raining. we were awful bad dry so not that big of deal. will be 2-3-4 days at least before I can re-set and have a lot of empty cages to fill. on a different note we had 7 hens on one tree, 4 of them huge, like 10-15 lb. each and 3 more maybe 5 lb each. another tree had one small one and another really small, maybe only a lb. wish they had come early enough for the cook out. we`ve had hen about every way it can be cooked and we are kinda sick of them now. in fact they are starting to look like mangy coyotes.

one thing I learned is pick a tad early instead of a tad late. we sent one to daughter jenny in oregon, priority, arrived in 3 days and it was moldy and she had to throw it out. made the mistake of wrap it in a damp ( not wet) paper. big mistake. sent the next one totally dry and it made it fine shape. we finally sold the last paw paws and that bears tooth tooth yesterday. still have about 50 lb of hens in the frig or still on the trees. that market is shot, too many found out about it. trying to figure out how to eat 50 lb. kathy was in the kitchen and out the window sees a doe deer about 6 feet from the house grazing in the back yard. they must not be able to see thru glass as all 3 of us stood there watching her mosey around.

Picked 4 hens that totaled 35 pounds, then quit looking. Found a small batch of fresh oysters too.

We need another good rain to have more hens. I still have trees to look at and I know they are there but time is short for that right now.

my guy came thru at the last minute and bought the last 20 lb of hens. we cked the rest and they were all too far gone and moldy. lost maybe 20-30 lb total due to marktr glutted up at the wrogt time. still was great year for us.

I found 20 + lbs still look good. Offered them locally for $100. No one bought them. Put some good pee on some k9 sets, had one yote today. Bob wish I'd looked closer at your pee cages. Thanks again for the tour.

well come on back. I`m filling the cages up now that we have been dry a few days. even a few fox. had one fox killed by coyotes but since caught 2 old coyotes at that spot. I bet one of them was the fox killer. think I`ll go poke those two with a stick or something. maybe make them eat that fox carcass, after it`s layed around a good while. see how they like fox now.
