All posts older than 40 days were deleted in a mass clean up.....
Anti's are the reason that this was done.......
But, I messed up and removed all LINKS in the "Link" section in the process....please repost your favote links.
I also made it so no Guests could see the board and must be registered.
If I feel that this doesn't solve the problem, Trappers Freedom will be taken down and made into a NEW board that is "password" protected with only people/trappers we know having access.

Yes......using posts from the site to push their "anti" agenda......and i won't let that happen...I'd rather shut it down or go underground.

I`m suspecting he means the indiana dnr. I doubt any hsus, peta or other "traditional " anti groups have anything off this site, unless supplied by the dnr. they are the ones with the copies of stuff off here, dnr I mean, and no one gave the cxopies to them, they are the ones stealing info for bad uses. that in itself may be an issue since this is not a public site. I`m sure you can relate to that cindy

Tim, Can people view this site that is not registered? I am not quite sure what you are referring to they have taken , I thought maybe it was something someone posted? Is your DNR Opposed to trapping? Sometimes their actions dont make sense. We now have a pretty good releationship with all of our Game and Fish but it took alot of work and I suppose ......... or am sure it could change in an instant.

cindy, yes our dnr has maybe 30 pages of posts and pictures taken from this private site, at least they had them in hand recently. they SAID a humane group sent those copies to every indiana legislator, but they are the only ones on here that we are aware of, not the antis. there is considerable thought they indeed ARE the antis, and the ones that sent the copies out, since they have them in hand ,and are vigorously lobbying for anti trap changes in our indiana law. there certaintly has been no proof to the contrary and lots of circumstantial evedence of such. have to be p.c. here, but you get the drift.

Unless I have really not paid attention, what could they possibly have that could hurt you guys? I have not seen anything d**ning. I visit this site like others to see whats going on, because Tim invited me and because sometimes there are things I like to join in on. I have not seen where Tim has had anythng on here that would be bad. I have only seen Tim work hard for the sport in what he believes in. I guess that is why I am confused? Besides you guys being upset with them on their stance on some issues? I thought you guys had a good relationship with them when things were discussed about different ones, when the topic was up about the convention a few years ago and what was allowed or not allowed in Indiana. Do I understand this right they are not your allies in trapping and furbearer issues?

cindy, our dnr appears to have changed direction from a conservation ( wise use) direction to a protectionist /non use philosophy, based on anti rhetoric and new inside( maybe outside) pressure. there seems to be no other logical assumption at this time. previously , yes, we enjoyed good relations with our dnr. we have not changed, we still strive for that relationship to return. but they have changed and do not apear interested anymore. this is just my opinion but I believe it is representative of how most feel. many would use much stronger language. frankly we are all at a loss to understand why the change in direction from our dnr that we have catered to on almost every issue in the past.

Cindy, to tell the truth it may not be trapping (at this time) the DNR is upset about.
This all seemed to start when our current (R)Governor took office. At that time there were perhaps a dozen hunting pens in the state that served deer hunters. These pens were legal, licensed, and inspected businesses. With the new administration came a new DNR leadership and these folks seemed to have a deep disgust for the practice of canned hunts. Soon after these various businesses were told they were about to go out of business. This is still in the courts (as no legislation was passed) and we do not know how it will shake out.
This live market issue appears to be an out-growth of the anti-canned hunt flavor our DNR has assumed. Live coyotes are used in running pens, all field sport enclosures are bad, ergo must end the live market.
Add to that a TV expose' in which one of the lesser grade hunting pens was featured, and public out-cry dutifully noted. Then other states incapable of handling their own business asked INDNR to stop the exports as they could not end the imports.
Frankly I don't think anyone has a clear idea what is going on. But I know enough that "My-man-Mitch" can forget about me on election day.

mitch was suppose to be pro business, not anti business. especially for the rural economy. is it possible mitch has no clue what dnr is doing? if so I hope our leaders contact him and request a sit down with him. after all the buck stops there.

That is a sad deal and we can relate. Our Governor sucks, sorry, she is anti everything. Everytime the Game and Fish tries to do something on their own such as the Mt Lion issue coming into Tucson she shuts them down. More important to protect the animals and relocate them than the threat of the attacks. Goes the way of the antis, everytime. There is news all over the tv today of another mountain lion attack and it is lucky the kids made it thru okay, happened this last weekend. The mountain lion has rabies, well now the man that died a while back if you heard from the plague from a mountain lion that died he did a nycropsy and got infected, was a member of our association. Looks to me like they are on the verge of some serious prroblems. Dont care squat about managing wildlife just perception. Another thing she keeps appointing non sportsman individuals to the commission at every chance she gets. The sportsman here are very strong and have big pulls but some days it is really hard. So I can relate to the pain in emotions over science.

I've been reading along like everyone else trying to figure out what the angle was on all of this and MK you summed it up better than anyone else has so far, thank you.
Bob know's how the veterinary industry has gone in the past 20-30 years and it seems this same trend is now taking place within game and fish dept's nationwide.

Everybody knows politicians want to do whats popular not whats right. As long as they keep parading kittens and puppies in the media we will lose every time. Thats how the public sees them. I'm starting to think the British were right back in the day..........the commons person is incapable of thinking logically.
