YEah,, I know,,this is a trapper's site. But...I was trapping decades b4 'coon huntin..... Something happened tonight....the switch came on ! 3 and home by 8:30, including a split tree..about 20' a part. First time she ever "did it" on her own at night (6 in one tree Dec. 2013 after a thaw....in the day time at that...one was a white..yeah,,,that all sounds fishy..but true). Ran all tracks over 200 yrds. All by herself. That's what you get when you throw out a dog on my road and drive off to leave her. I worked with her...took a whole yr. but it looks like it's coming together !! WHOOO LOOK FERRR 'EM ! Proud of my Ruby Roo ! Not a better feeling than seeing your pup do something on her own. You have worked the dog with lots of hard work and probably a few unhappy moments, but man it is great when your pup becomes a true hunting dog. I have watched a many young night dog come into their own. The first tree they make makes you as proud as new father. good job! The first tracks they run for any length is great and when they give the tree bark, you have fallen in love.
