I have never changed springs on any trap before. does the jaws have to come off and levers or can you some how get the main U shaped holding rod up and over the dog end with out taking all that stuff off. any help on correct procedure would be great. only have a couple to do but not sure where to start.

Take a screw driver and pop the springs loose of the levers and then pull the spring pin out and change springs. You don't have to take the jaws and levers off.

i take a screw driver and pry the end of the spring on the lever up just enough to slip a piece of tubeing over it, then release it, do both springs this way, and spring pin will come rite out be careful fooling w/ the springs, the tubeing over it will help you keep control of them, if ya let one slip, OOOOOOOOOUUUUUUCH!
