I see a lot of the white stuff on the seed stems. Can I spray now and salvage some of the seed crop?

Is the White stuff about like Cotton? Is it spittle bugs doing their sucking? Sometimes they ruin the seed head, other times they don't. It don't sound like alternaria disease. That usually causes a scalded looking spot on the leaf, followed by the leaf either getting a blackish spot or the leaves just die off. Is that correct Mr. Doyle?

WHATEVER IT IS, SEEN BOTH, IT SEEMS TO AFFECT ONLY THE NORTHEN/ WISC TYPE DOMESTIC SOURCE. TRUE INDIANA WILD RIGHT NEXT TO IT IS IMMUNE IT SEEMS. IF i COULD BUY GENUINE INDIANA OR MIDWEST SOURCE SEED i`D GLADLY PAY 10 X THE PRICE THE DOMESTIC SEED SELLS FOR.

Its not spit bugs. I think it is called botrytis? And this is from Wisc. seed. I need to check the others closer, but I havent noticed it on the wild or from other seed sources.

DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANY SEED SOURCE THAT IS NOT NORTHERN? IMO ALL THE SEED AVAILABLE NO MATTER IF BOUGHT FROM THE VIRGINIAS IS THE NORTHEN WISC SOURCE.

alternaria kills the plant the others seem to just knock it down for the year and it comes back but no seed production.
I to would like a local grown seed for here,i had about 600 local plants in a bed for seed production and that was part of what they stole on me.
