I have a put up questions for cats, fur harvester shows cats with legs tucked in front legs I'm referring to, but my fur buyer splits the front legs and clothes pin wire screen to them left out in front, he wrapped the back legs pretty much all the way around to the front and that looked good but what do you guy 's do with front legs tuck them in or split them and leave them out front, and I would guess splitting them is just so they dry out properly or quicker not sure. not trying to change the post just curious and no you guys would have good opinions on it Its best to leave them tucked inside the pelt. Some people do split them up to the elbows, simply to make it easier to get it off of the carcass. After having let your pelt dry on the board fur in, when you flip your pelt fur out, just leave the front legs inside. This also allows the belly area to be clearly visible when buyers are inspecting them.

90% of the value of a cat is the narrow belly strip. Via leaving the legs inside you present the belly in the best way possible.
Also keep in mind that we drum the cats to clean them and make them look as good as you can. If the front legs are left out they can tear in the drum. Drumming is done before the grading.

I don't know the deal on the reds but all mine sold (NAFA) for a great average. They all came from central IN.................I'm new to this whole deal so I couldn't give an accurate grade on the fur........THEY ALL LOOK GOOD TO ME!
I did spend alot time puttin them up, I'm curious what the deal is/was w/ FHA on their foxes? Maybe I just got luckey w/ my reds.
Sure seems like FHA and NAFA were comparable on all their other prices!
