the brilliant orange ones. found the biggest bunch and prettiest bunch I`fe ever found in my life. probably 100 lb. we are eating all we can, giving a bunch away and freezing a bunch for the 27th cook out. these jump right out at you. up and down a bigh fallen ash. never seen such a bunch in one spot. nice young tender ones too.

I finally ate some yesterday, that I had picked last weekend. They are OK, but I like some of the other kinds a lot better.

I like hens better. one thing on the chickens is they have to be young. not small, just young. one way to tell is their color pales if they get old. if they get any age on them they get real tough and boardy and nor much flavor.we are so dry this year I`m wonfering if that doesn`t make them lesser taste too.

I found something similar a month ago. Didn't know what it was and left it there. Brilliant orange like you said, it was small but growing out everywhere at the base of a tree. Went back 2 weeks later and it was all gone, no trace of it. Are there anything other mushrooms that look similar that you could confuse it with?
