I'm gonna gear up on some of these traps the trapmaster dog proof coon trap.
Guys that have experience with them i have a couple specific questions.
1). What modifications are needed to make them work effectively?
2). What modifications would you recommend making to the trap to make it perform better.
I don't want to hear about any other dp traps just these and what you think about them
Thanks Jeff

Jeff,
I would recommned welding a rod (stake) to the side of them so there is more resistance when a Raccoon pulls the trigger.

As Tim said, weld a stake to the side of it to poke in the ground. After I did that, not much difference between catch rates with TM or Griz on my line.

I agree and they are two different traps as to performance. Look simular but are not the same in many ways. I recommend the stake on the Lit Griz also, except if you take a little time and push the spring in the ground as an achcor, better to add a stake so you have no problems with the sring freezing in.

Bill Duke bought the trap master trap Company and is comming out with a better version and is going to be around 10-12.00 dollars. I asked him if they had go all the kinks out and he stated the testing has been really good and hopes they will be ready in Aug.
