How long before FHA has on line access for the shippers to their accounts where they can check and see how there fur is graded and the auction results, or is it currently available?

Are there any plans by FHA to start running pick up routes through Missouri?

what would really get me over would be a fur put up service ,as offered by nafa. it really makes a difference when a guy has big numbers of animals/hides to handle. sometimes he just has to go with the auction that offers the put up service.

There was talk (or suggested from the FHA brass) at the Convention that Indiana could use/benefit from a "put-up" service in that market over top of what FHA already has to offer. I imagine that this will become reality by next season and promoted through the FHA website and publications. It has to be a pretty sweet setup to handle large volumes, and then consider $20 raccoons and being a trapper....
Lets say Dave M lobbied to be the FHA "put-up" service man in Indiana.......he does 100 coon for $2.50 ea.
That is $250.00 bucks.....I image it would take several days of fleshing & drying time....... During that time maybe Dave could have caught 12.5 coon that would equal the same money...so Dave would have to decide if it was worth it........I think it would be well worth it when coon prices are low, but when high, I think Dave could catch more coon than the time it took to put up a large volume of someone's fur...... I dunno...maybe Dave could do both:).....regardless that idea is being explored and should be implemented in one fashion or another before next season starts.

I have been so busy, I cant even defend myself when someone is talking about me. I would just have Zach put up my coon, like he does now, then have him do everyone elses, and I would get the $2.50. ;D Seriously, I think offering a put up service is a good idea, for those who are too busy, or for those who arent good at it. It would be a good deal for everyone involved. But I aint gonna be the one doing it.

The Put-up service is now set up for this year 08-09.....(I'll be doing it, along with a guy that has worked for a Fur buyer for over 10 years as a skinner/scraper....he is the one in the Cut Throat Coyote Trapping video skinning the yote in 5 mins from then back of his truck... ....He is a personal friend of mine and helped me put-up fur last year when I got behind. When we aquire the goods that need put-up YOU will get a receit just like a normal shipper (it is fully insured at that point). You can meet us on the route or drop off.....all green, unprocessed coon should be froze when dropping off (make sure you know your count). Your fur then gets processed, bagged & tagged then sent to Canada with all the other shippers goods. Coon will be put on boards and length/quality will be #1 priority.....
