Sending off Mon......................either way gonna lose $$$$$$! Most of the K-9's were caught for a farmer who is a family friend who is close to home. I used to ignore the comments of givin up trappin for k-9's in this state. Mainly because I love the sport so much! I'll continue to trap 'em on my deer huntin grounds and for people who are friends but other than that "they" can have 'em! The days of even breakin even on trappin are over. W/ gas at $3 a gallon and callin for upto 4$ this summer a guy just can't justify it. Doesn't matter how much you love it.........when it gets down to hobbies or simply surviving something has to give. Sad thing is I make dang good $$ at my job and still have a hard time puttin 50$ worth of gas in the truck to run the line only to nab afew yotes aweek. Looking at the big picture it's a sad deal really.

Sad thing is most people (farmers) who really need yotes thinned out can't affort to pay the ADC prices to get yotes trapped. People are me right now are dying to have yotes trapped but I can't get to them all, nor do I have the time. People want us to come get rid of the yotes but they don't understand it's costing us (the trappers) $$$$! People don't understand that the trap that yote was caught in cost 20$, the lure/bait/urine cost money, gas is 3$ a gallon, and my time has to be worth something! Checkin an empty trap for 3 days w/ nothin in it costs money and when you do connect on the 4th day your already $$ in the hole! I'll be better off stickin to my bass tournaments....................atleast I STAND a chance of making some $$$$!!!! Money really doesn't mean a whole lot to me when it comes to trappin, but when it gets to the point your several hundred/thousand in the hole and you've had a good year it's time to let "the knowledgable people" take control! I can handle breakin even, but I can't justify workin my tail off (even for something I love) only to lose $$$$$$! I spend alot of $$ deer huntin every year but atleast I can eat the dang things!

Good lookin' fur. Sure know what you mean about the costs involved and the work it takes to trap and put up the yotes. I would have been a lot better off to have targeted other critters but for this year it was the challenge. Good luck on the sale.

Nice pic! Now, I'm confused about everyone giving up on the coyote trapping. I understand the finaces are a major concern. But if you trap enough of the coyotes and put the money you earned for the buggers to more traps, and you trapped more of 'em, and then you manage to decrease the population of the coyotes (not by a whole lot)... won't it increase the fur quality? I mean less coyotes means less competetion for other coyotes and that means better fur quality due to the major consumption of other critters (mice, voles, weasles, rabbits). Correct? If I'm wrong please correct me.
