called game warden he said he would set out camera's but unless they actually touched my traps nothing he could do, trailing me in isn't against the law. he says they are on public ground and can go where they want, so after 2 times he was suppose to come out to set cameras, finally he met me friday, season closed today and he didn't have camera, he said he will come back later to put it out, B.S. I'll call him tomorrow and see what he said the camera did. I'm going to trap same draw next year so I really wanted to slap them good this year to save the B.S. next year. although I now they are using satalite stuff now in some area's so maybe they don't need camera's. maybe they just need to mark the area and use some kind of google earth system. ?? still think its B.S. I will choke up the 2 traps that were stolen. however now I have to deal with it a different way that should send a strong message, not to mess with a trapper. but will let some time go by. thanks for all the info will try to use it next season I guess.

Pro don't fuel a fire you wont win. They have money and emotions on their side. You only have the law and science on yours. Let the conservation officer do their job. Most of them are sportsmen and hate antis just as much as we do. Like I have stated before, My conservation officer offered to sit on a trapped coyote all day just to bust a guy that was stealing mine. I didn't do it though as I didn't want to leave the coyote in the trap all day and lose the time on the trap line. Let DNR G&F use there camera and equipment. If that officer is less then enthusiastic to help as for another one. (young guys are more gung ho) MAKE SURE they pull a case number, that way the officer will have to do paper work one way or another if he has citation or arrest its all the better. If he doesn't it looks like he is blowing off a call which is a BIG no-no in law enforcement. Make sure to check into the case next season ( or start a new case). Remember the squeaky wheel gets the grease. I worked a misdemeanor battery case that you would have thought was a Federal case the way my Major and chief called me every day. Why did they call??? Because the complainant called them.........every day!!

Get some 1x4 yellow pine boards. Cut them 3-4 feet long. Drive common nails through them 4 inches on center, staggered one inch, so board don't split down the middle. Drive these nails while boards are laying in yard so nails go into dirt. Once complete, pull up boards and file nail points sharp. Then paint whole thing with flat camo paint. Place in likely avenues of approach to your sets[you have to remember their location] and one step on that and I believe your "problem" will go away. If the law gets called, deny all, and then say the trail cameras you had hidden, to watch your sets, didn't pick up anything. I guess they were there before you made your sets and you were lucky enough not to step in them........Also add that the fictional trail cameras did pick up somebody messing with your sets and those boards were probably intended for you.

thanks for the info. already took care of it, nothing wrong with a little trapper's revenge and they have no idea or couldn't prove who did it. I feel more than even at this point and didn't give trappers a bad name. its simple if you want to do anything. dont bother calling your fish and game or police a complete waste of time. just do it your self. and if anyone argues that point its because they live in a world that used to be, not todays world, I did get after them at the beggining before I contacted f&g or police. that how I found out they own a business in town. Its all done and over they have been given a gift that keeps on giving for along time. now they are in same possiton I was. they can think I did it, but they can't prove it anymore than I could prove what they did. very much evened out the score and I feel good about it, shouldn't have any problems for next season. thanks for input

Good, glad to hear that it's all worked out! Hope you got 'em good too. I really didn't mean to post what I said on the board, was trying to send that info to you as a PM, but I guess not computer savvy enough yet! I got a couple other good ones as well, but not harmful.

this wasn't harmfull either, however they cost me about 30 days of gas and lost fur checking traps, they most likely pee'd on, I found out they own a business in town and eating business, so I gave them a gift that keeps on given and when it wore off I bit, I did it again so I figure we are even 30 days of lost business to 30 days of lost business. worked out great and most important I feel like I didn't turn tell and run like most trappers on another board suggested, they wanted to pull the traps and sneak away so you don't give trappers a bad name... B.S trappers need to be up front and in their face. they need a good reason to leave trappers alone. seems trappers have become weak and will lift their dresses and run and soon as one anti shows up. If your going to trap public places you are going to have confrontation and if your afraid of it, stay home but I would hate for trappers to become any weaker than they already are, I'm proud to be a trapper and see no reason to hide what I do from anyone.
