Bob you told me that story awhile back and it stuck like glue. I caught myself a couple times afterwards doing that same thing then I remembered your story.

60 years ago but still remember it. dad was a great dad, hard worker and good defender of the family, but all business. it was harder times then and everything was work work to make ends meet. being a good dad was a luxury then that few could afford time with the kids. I vowed I`d never have things the kids would remember 60 years later like it happened yesterday. I`m sure my kids do have things they will remember, like negative. the thing about parenting, you learn as you go so none of us are perfect. like the old saying, the last perfect guy died about 2,000 years ago. lol, well here is lighter story. you all know the perfect husband( you can tell this to your wives). #1 good provider, #2 good lover in bed, #3 great dad, #4 likes to do dishes and housework, #5 knows plumbing and auto repair, and about 5 more things #`s 6 thru 10. however.... it is very important none of the 10 men know about the other 9

ha ha. I look at the title of this thread and immediately came to my mind that song, " push it, push it real good...". guess I might be old but not dead yet.

Amen to that Doyle. I remember dad shooting hoops with me at school one night. He went to a school board meeting & I had to stay after practice & wait till he was done. Living on a farm with a dairy dad didn't have "a lot of extra" time to spend with each of us 7 kids to play or go to many games or events we were in. We were always busy or working thus he instilled good work ethics in all of us. I still remember that lesson on free throws, he died of cancer three days after my 15th birthday. I hardly miss a practice or game of my kids & get them to church most Sunday's. Doing what he couldn't at the time, I'm doing my best.....

Well if it quits raining, I'll finish spreading the topsoil and shaping around the house and get grass sown. Forgot what it looks like out the window to see green grass. Lot of work going on and more coming.....never seen it like this before so working most of the time. On a mission and goals set so not wishing but takin' action. But might have to take a little trapper friend break around the same time we did it last time down here?
