we got a exactly 1" and came real nice and easy. could have used 3" but the 1" was greatly appreciated. creek never even came up at all and not muddy, so it all went in the ground. if that doesn`t get the hens going in about 10-14 days, then won`t be any. we are about a week or more behind you doyle. I bet I get some hens, but too late for the cook out. I guess when fur finally all gets worthless we`ll move the cook out a week or 2 later just so we can all sit around and eat fried hens and watermelon.

somre might find this hard to believe, but I don`t care what fur prices are. high prices have brought some nasty folks into that I don`t like at all.

what amazes me is how little $ it takes. like a $50 coyote finished, minus commision , is big money. no it`s not. If I was going to rob a bank it sure as heck wouldn`t be a piggy bank. big antlers on a deer, or `seng, does the same thing. folks go nuts.

we found 3 little hens size of hens egg 3 days ago. they are bigger than fist size now. also watching some big bears tooth. we need some rain. I have a puffball market and no puffballs. selling the bears tooth today, and hopefully the last load of paw paws. we ended up about 250 lbs of paw paws this year and still a few left, but that`s about over. for being wet early we are sure ending the summer dry. about an inch or little more in the last month.farmers are going like mad, lot of beans out and maybe one cornfield is all. I`m affraid won`t be much fall color this year on account of just too dry. olot of the maple the leaves just turned brown and fell off already. kathys eunimus ( we call them una mouses) are turning brilliant red.

We are getting a slow soakin' rain all day today and temps are going to dive down into the low 40's for a few days. Good combination for Hens. We should have them anytime here.
