JUST SAW ON THE NEWS THAT THE DNR NO LONGER REGULATES LEGALLY OWNED WILDLIFE. CALLED MIG AND ASK SO WHAT`S THIS MEAN FOR LIVE FOX AND COYOTES? HE SAID IT`S A FREE FOR ALL RIGHT NOW, NO HOLDS BARRED, OR WORDS TO THAT FFECT. EVIDENTLY THIS IS ALL ON THE COAT TAILS OF THE DEER PEN LAWSUIT THE DNR LOST. HE DID SAY IT WAS ALL A LEGAL TECHNICALITY AND THE PLAN IS TO CORRECT AT SOME POINT IN THE FUTURE. BUT FOR NOW, TODAY, IT`S ALL OPEN RANGE. SUPPOSEDLY LETTERS HAVE BEEN SENT OUT TO GAME BREEDERS AND PET PERMITEES BUT i`VE NOT GOT ONE YET. ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ELSE ABOUT IT?

Today's Indy Star,
Indiana cannot regulate tigers, wolves as pets
Associated Press, @ap 8 a.m. EDT July 2, 2015
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources won’t regulate more than 30 wild animals under a court ruling that stripped its authority over legally owned creatures.
The ruling is part of a lawsuit over whether DNR could regulate or ban the hunting of captive deer. It has surprised animal advocates and is raising concern about a lack of regulation.
The Journal Gazette reports the DNR previously had issued special permits to people who owned wild animals as pets. The permit included extensive enclosure and care requirements for the animals and gave the agency inspection powers.
DNR Spokesman Phil Bloom says the agency had regulated the animals through administrative rules. The permits were issued for animals including venomous snakes, black bears, alligators, bobcats, Gila monsters, wolves, tigers and cougars.
Lots of unanswered questions

MY GUESS IS DNR IS DEAD IN THE WATER AND TRYING TO MINIMIZE DETAILS.... AS THERE ARE NO DETAILS, THEY LOST. REMEMBER THE YEAR ROUND TAKING OF COYOTES ( STILL IS AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN LEGAL- PASSED BOTH HOUSE AND SENATE AND SIGNED INTO LAW) YET DNR HAS/HAD THE AUDACITY TO FRAUDULENTLY LIST COYOTES AS HAVING A SEASON. i THINK THE CHICKENS JUST CAME HOME TO ROOST. THRU ATTEMPTS AT OVER REACHING AND OVER REGULATION THEY JUST LOST ALL REGULATION IS THE WAY i SEE IT. DNR HAS THIS WEIRD IDEA THEY ARE GOD( KINGS DEER) AND CAN REGULATE BY ADMINISTRATIVE RULE AGAINST STATE LAW. WELL THEY JUST GOT TOLD IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS BY A COURT THEY CAN NOT DO THAT. i SEE GOOD AND BAD IN THAT, BUT MORE GOOD THAN BAD.

I started researching the history, there are pages of articles. The way I read it the court refused to hear DNR's case putting everything up in the air now. DNR and the anti's are going to circle the wagons now. It's are time to be heard, maybe the 1% ers (NTA) can help..............HA. No really what's the ISTA's and others position? Anybody?

ista fought against the trappers last go around. nta never showed at all. serious. the one carrying the weight is the one deer pen owner had the grit to say enough is enough. he even had to fight the deer hunters assn. ( which imo are just antis in disguise... like most "clubs")

the whole live coyote deal. I remember you being there at the nrcs hearing in bedford. but the ista as a whole sided with the dnr. the lonnie/tom clam worked with them, not against them. I beleive your testimony at that hearing was a honest one on your part, but not the ista`s part. behind the scenes they did the exact opposite. makes no matter anyway as the dnr knew the results irregardless of testimony or public opinion. I`ll never waste time taking a day off to go to a bogus "hearing" like that again. I`m convinced all that stuff is pre determined and hearings are just for show. just a waste of our time and the tax payers money. but they justify descisions that way. that`s all those hearings are. apparently a judge at least realised that too. a good thing. dnr needed their wings clipped bad imo. any gov`t body that gets unlimited power always uses it, and not always for good either.

I tend to agree with the predetermined theory. It was decided before it got started.

it`s a hard thing to learn and difficult to accept. you`d think grown men our age would be more savvy. our fault is we trust our fellow men. long and short of it is I`d rather be us than them. we sleep well at night. I suppose they do too but not for the same reasons.

those hearings are because its the law the end is decided before they start hearings. That is sad but the way it is.You will hear a lot of scare tactics now so they can get control again. Like tigers bears lions, lions tigers and bears oh boy. When in fact its a different out fit has the big animals.

Arkansas had their wings clipped this year to. They can't even check your liscense until they see you doing something wrong. Before they thought they could go in your house without a warrant to check freezers.

GOT MY LETTER. IT`S TRUE, DNR NO LONGER REGULATES ANYTHING HAVING ANYTHING TO DO WITH LEGALLY OBTAINED WILDLIFE, INCLUDING LIVE FOX AND COYOTES. NO CAGE REGS, NO PERMITS NEEDED, NO INSPECTIONS, NOTHING. WHERE EVER WE WERE 50 YEARS AGO WE ARE THE SAME TODAY. IT WILL BE THIS WAY UNTIL AT LEAST THE NEXT LEGISLATIVE SESSION, AT WHICH TIME THE DNT WILL INTRODUCE LEGISLATION TO TRY TO GET BACK IN THE DRIVERS SEAT. UNTIL THEN, WHATEVER YOU WANT GOES AND NOTHING ANYONE CAN DO ABOUT IT UNLESS YOU BREAK SOME OTHER LAW IN THE PROCESS.
