I am having hell of a time beefing up those dogs. Is there a trick, or replace them with store bought beefed up already. Trying my flux wire welder. Can't get it to my liking. Any advice?

BEST DEAL IS JUST BUY THE REPLACEMENT DOGS i THINK MADE BY A GUY IN PA NAMED CUSTER? REPLACE AT HOME AS THEY AR SOOOOOO HEAVY YOU CAN`T PUT THEM ON WITH PLIARS, YOU`LL NEED A VISE OR HAMMER AND A RR TRACK. YOU HAVE TO FILE A BIT ON THEM AS THEY ARE SO THICK THEY CATCH ON THE JAW.

What Bob says is good. I bought some 3/16" rod and cut to length and tacked on the top of the dogs and never had another problem with bent dogs. I also tacked the dog connecting loop so it couldn't be torn off.

yes, thought I was covered with beefing the dogs but didn`t weld the loop and they tore the dogs on some plumb off. the custer ones no welding needed as they can`t tear them off.
