great for tree farm herbicide spraying too! well have some inside jobs. still 2 beaver in the freezer to skin and lots of traps to clean and get ready. mark, we had fresh ground elk burgers for dinner tonight. a perk of the last coyote job. nathan and I ate fried elk steaks ( I know, it`s a sin to fry elk meat but you weren`t there) several nights in a row, till we caught the wild pig. only trap I have out now is for a daggone groundhog burrowing under the bridge. can`t have that! saw where a beaver had chewed on a bur oak down by the creek so I guess he needs to go too. not like he could ruin an ash tree that is going to die anyway.....

same here doyle. the whole bottoms is almost 100% ash so I`ll never see anything but horseweeds and briars down there the rest of my life. if walnut canker or asian longhorn beetle hits there won`t be any trees left and time to pack up and finally move west. no reason for me to be here without my woods.

I put some ground hog sets out today too. Hope we gett'em Bob. Nothin' like that Elk for some good eats. My grandson will be going on his first Colorado trip this year with a muzzleloader Cow tag. I say "will" to be positive but he needs to draw in with a 90% success probability. On the Ash trees, I have a bunch on my place. They are still decent from what I see so wouldn't it be good to get them cut and sold?

JACKIE, THEY`LL ALL DIE WITH IN A YEAR OR 3. 100%. MARK UNLESS YOU HAVE A LOT IT`S PROBABLY NOT WORTH THE HASSLE. ASH MIGHT AVG YOU 50-60 CENTS A BD. FOOT. i FIGURE i HAVE BETWEEN 10-12 GRAND OF REAL NICE BIG ASH BUT IT WOULD TEAR HECK OUT OF WHAT`S LEFT SO IT`S A TOSS UP LET THEM DIE AND FALL APART NATURAL OVER TIME OR JUST GO IN AND TEAR IT TO HECK AND AT LEAST GET A LITTLE MONEY. JACKIE, THAT GUY TOLD ME ILLEGAL TO KILL COYOTES NOW JUST TO PROTECT DEER AS DEER ARE NOT DOMESTIC. IT IS LEGAL TO KILL THEM TO PROTECT CATTLE SHEEP ETC, BUT NOT DEER. IF A TIMBER BUYER CAME HERE AND MADE ME AN OFFER, NOT SAYING i WOULDN`T TAKE IT IF WE COULD GET THEM OUT WITH MINIMAL DAMAGE TO THE FEW OTHER SPECIES LEFT. i PROBABLY SHOULD TRY TO GET RIP UP HERTE TO CUT THEM AND DRAG OUT TO THE RD AND TRY TO GET SOME MONEY OUT OF THEM.

Bob you need a little 3 wheel cutting machine. Gets around good in timber and you can control where you throw the tree.
Only ark would protect a stinkin coyote. What did he say about the liscense?

HE SAID LISC NEEDED. THAT ASH BORER ONLY SPREADS MAYBE 1/2 MILE A YEAR ON IT`S OWN. PROBLEM IS FOLKS MOVE DEAD TREE FIREWOOD AND LOGS GREAT DISTANCES AND SPREAD IT FAR. SO MAYBE YOU HAVE 1-2-3 YEARS AND MAYBE 10 YEARS, BUT PROBABLY ONLY A YEAR OR TWO.
