WANT TO PASS THIS GUY ALONG. PAT STEFANCK FROM MICHIGAN. HIS PHONE NUMBERR IS 517-627-8653. HE MAKES ADJUSTABLE AND SOLID BOARDS AND THE CHEAPEST PRICES i`VE SEEN. ABOUIT 1/2 WHAT OTHERS ARE GETTING. i GOT SOME ADJUSTABLE COYOTE FROM HIM AND THEY ARE A WORK OF ART. IF YOU NEED ANY FUR BDS i HIGGHLY RECOMMEND HIM. THE BERRYS... SO FAR PICKED 22 QTS OF WILD RASPBERRIES AND 7 QTS OF MULBERRIES. THE MULBERRIES ARE DONE AND THE RASPS GOING GREAT GUNS AND WILL GET 20 MORE QTS- IF IT RAINS. WE`VE MISSED EVERY RAIN FOR SEVERAL WEKS NOW. IF WE MISS THIS ONE WE ARE OFFICIALLY IN THE EARLY STAGES OF DROUGHT AGAIN. i SEE A BIG BLOB SOUTH OF TERRIBLE HAUTE HEADING THIS WAY, SO KEEPING OUR FINGERS ( PURPLE FINGERS) CROSSED.

Thanks for the info on the boards. I've been looking at different ones. What's everyone's preference, adjustable or solid board and why?

this no rain every summer is getting real old. no matter how much flooding is elsewhere, we stay dry. still a chance but I see already the best part is past us on the west side of indy and nary a drop here. I see a lot of the berrys just mummified and they pruned themselves down to 1-2 berrys per terminal to be able to make seed. well so far we aren`t in real bad shape, just can`t keep missing any more at all. we started wet and was hoping this was going to be the summer we stayed wet. I`ve got a hunch this is just my lot in life and I live in a dry hole due to the city ,or those jerk neighbors that god is punishing and he can`t stop it at their property line so I get drug on their coat tails. I was talking to kathy about it and she says I hope we aren`t the jerks being punished. I says well if it`s us we are getting the neighbors good. ha! silver lining to everything!

brandonlee170, I tried some adjustable on coon and cats this past season. I like the adjustable on the cats; but will probably stick with solid for coons. I have only used solid boards on k9's.

Thanks Dewey. I'm just gonna put coyotes on wood this year. Prolly just order some of each to decide if I like the solids or adjustable.

I prefer adjustable for coyotes because I can make them smaller or larger to fit the coyote. for coon I prefer solid so I can tack the skirt better. you`ll never find a better price than stefanck for adjustable coyote, $101 a dozen. if it was up to me I`d never put up another coon as long as I live. but if they get in my coyote sets I keep them. this year I may not keep any at all no matter what. I remember back in he last $3 coon years I had a colored gfuy bought all my carcases. he comes to pick up and says hey they still have the skins on them. I says yep, this year you have to skin them yourself. he cut the skin in half and pulled the skin 2 ways like skin a squirrel.

we got .55" it wasn`t the 2-3" we needed but it will buy some time and hope the next one is better. it came fast and hard so it at least washed off the spider mites. they are only a drought insect problem. if it`s a driving rain it literally washes them off the plants and they don`t have the ability to climb back up. will get me another 10-15 qts of wild rasberrys too. if we get some more we`ll have wild blackberries for he first time ever also. as long as I can remember they always bloom and set good but then just dry up and fall off due to not enough rain.

The adjustable coyote boards are the way to go. Much easier to manage when you are turning the hide and then taking them off when finished. This was the first year I used them and I definitely won't be going back to solid. I built my own but wish I would have got word of the guy Bob referred because that is a great deal.

the wood is no issue boraxing. I borax every one of then on the hide side. have to due to our humiditty. sawdust, that`s what we need here. 3/4 and 2 and I`d be one happy person.

I hear ya on the coon Bob. As much as I love to coon trap, I may scale it down from 2 months to 2 weeks this season and move on to coyotes. I got a $9 average back in May and the majority of my coon are up there waiting on the September sale. All you heard last summer was we couldn't catch enough coon to satisfy the market. I don't guess that was true! In Mr. Epler's fur market report he is predicting a boom in 2016-17, I guess we will have to wait and see.
