"Last winter, much of the U.S. was hit early in the trapping season with extended cold and deep snows. These conditions lasted well into Feb., after the close of most trapping seasons. Consequently, most trappers across the 'coon belt did not catch their normal amounts of 'coon and supplies are non-existent. Inventories are sold out and the auctions houses are empty. We anticipate 'coon to be a very coveted item this season. Catch as many as you can."
Write me down on you calendar now, right now, so you'll know next fall who hit the nail on the head. The above quote will sound very similar to what you will read in the magazines as fur market predictions starting,,,say September or October of this year. Mark it.
It's like a guy just told me last night. "For all the mess they make scraping and the work, I just can't justify trapping many 'coon for under a $20 avg."

The new issue of Trapper's World arrived today. Seems they're not even waiting till Oct. to sing the blues....the American fur mkt. is apparently owned by China also.
