talked to 3 guys, one from columbus and 2 local up here. all put up fur very good, scraped abnd stretched righ to get size etc. all had from 10-30% held for later sale, their lesser and smaller goods. this is beforte commission or wait on $. one sold $12.84, one $13.86 and last said "$16". time they sell their smalls and $2 ones they`ll be lucky to get avg $10. I thought that was terrible. anyone else have any info on in type fur?

I heard there were some net averages under 10 for our type coons.
My nephew sold his coons 2 weeks ago for 8.50. I thought that was terrible, maybe now it don't seem so bad.

How did I know ? I never made a 'coon or water set all season, sans a few feed beds for rats. Never trapped a 'coon on purpose all season. Same ol chit every season.....ah geee...the price dropped once your skins are in transit. $30 avg. last season. Uh...yeah. Uh huh.

I did indeed avg $34.50 nose count last year. no grading, every coon I caught. this years are not sold yet, so it remains to be seen what it is this year. I suspect lower 20`s.

tough year to be a trapper and even tougher to be a country buyer. country buyer is a crook unless he works free and loses money to boot. my take is the market isn`t as bad as nafa results indicate. I think they gave away the wild as a perk to the ranch buyers. of course I`m not a nafa guy, seen too much hocus pokus up there over the years.

I think it will ease up some but now buyers know they can buy cheap I wish they would have bought more back and hold the price. question now is when to hold,em when to fold,em
