we were wet, now dry. looks like another year tanks on the mushrooms, at least here in east central. wife found a dozen whites maybe 2" tall. left them and a daggone deer or something ate a couple so she picked the rest. she just lives to eat the things so I only ate one, figured I give her the centers of the watermelon and I eat the rind, so might as well give her the mushrooms too. ah, but she does things for me too. you know those things.... Yea, I know. Your a good man and she's a good woman! I found a couple today. Enough to get a taste. Mine does things for me too. Zach says why you do all that for her? I say, she does all that for me.

that`s how it works. if a man isn`t getting what he wants, then neither is momma. we all have 100% control of our own destiny. back to mushrooms, ahh, a hen of the woods is just as good and they can weigh 20 lbs. I`m banking on a good hen year. but drought can axe them too.

found a few grays and yellows but not real plentiful. Also found several ginseng plants up and growing. Surprised to see it up so early.

saw some walnut and tulip leaves turned black from the freeze a few days ago, but nothing else I could see. supposedly a realk good hard freeze up here wed morning. well, hope not. hard to imagine no paw paws, no persimmons, no berries, no apples etc. we all knew 88 degrees in march was whacked. my envirinmentlist greenie bro in law( throw back, went to college in the east and it ruined him- no kids, extremely rich, you know the type) said global warming. I said so, maybe they can grow cornm in canada nowe , good deal!

The trees are leafed out here, so that should help some.

we`ll know tommorow not too long after daylight. quick as it thaws if the vegetation is wilted, in a day or two it`s black and dead. mark, red cedars are tough as nails, but if you can carry or get a hose to them, I`d water them. they say rain a plenty by friday. lol, but they lie like a rug.
