Looks like the trap works great. It does look to have a big problem though. It looks like it gets mud on every coon you catch, maybe you need to clean your traps a bit better. Nice catch Tim. Coon ran like crazy down here Friday and Saturday night. A couple of my trappers caught a fair number both nights. One fella caught 19 friday night and 9 Saturday night and the other fella caught 15 friday night and 31 on Saturday night.

As far as the traps being packed full of mud(I haven't used the alctraz traps) the duke dps and grizz I use get packed full of mud and if I'm not near water I can't get them clean enough to reset in freezing conditions so I think this is a problem inherit to all dp style traps not just the alcatraz trap..Looks like they work pretty good Tim I'll have to get a couple of dozen from you this summer and give them a go!....B....

As long as your water trapping why not rig the trap on a drowner ? You've got to wash your coon anyway . And you wont have to dispatch your coon . Should speed up checking , but slow down the initial setting .
